I have a 8 gig dvd. Even when i take out the extras, It is over 4.3 gigs. I understand i need to reencode, but I dont understand the process. I want to put it on 2 dvd-rs so i can play it on my settop dvd player. What does it mean to reencode and what programs do i need to put it on 2 dvd-rs?
    Thanks

You don't have to re-encode to put it on 2 DVDR's.

If you wanted to squeeze it all onto one DVDR (and loose quality you can re-encode)

There are many tutorials on DVD's and the tools to acomplish what you want, one tool is ifoedit (which is a tool you will have to become familar with when splitting files up from 1 DVD)

and even if you read through the message base here you will find answers to your questions. (search, or read back several pages)

Is a good place to start.
