Up to this point I have been using rempeg to re-encode movies that were too big for one DVD-r. However, I decided to try dvd2svcd and cce 2.64. I must say the encoding time was greatly reduced. However, cce seems to make a lot of reduntant files that are not necessary. For example, it creates a remuxed mp2 file, a mpv file that has an invalid frame rate and an mpv file that was created with pulldown that fixes the frame rate (and of course the ac3 file is also created). Isn't there a way that I can just have it create the corrected frame rate mpv and the ac3 file without filling my hard drive with 20 gigs of files I will delete anyway (and not to mention the fact that my computer is still encoding needless files!)
