  1. Hi,

What are the things to do or not do when ripping a DVD? I mean that if I make a copy, I'd like the copy to work on all or almost all DVD players that supports SVCD. Presently, I don't have a Standalone DVD Player but if in 2 years I buy one, I'd like to be able to view the DVD's that I'm about to rip.
    Thanks for your reply.

  2. To be the most compatible, simply stick to the standards. To find out what the standards are, look to the left column of this page under WHAT IS.

If, for example, you encode to (S)VCD in TmpGenc, just load one of the supplied templates that suits your needs, then you will be within the standards.

BTW, not all DVD players will play (S)VCD and some that do will only play commercially pressed discs, not those burnt on to CDR(W).

    Hope this helps

i'm sure there are models for each brand that are more compatible than others....

of course, ppl have to check the compatibility of a dvd player before buying one, but in general pioneers have a good mix of quality and compatibility
