  1. Hi,

Who can help me. I made mpeg2 files with Studio 8 (Pinnacle). When i look at it on the pc, the quality is good. When i burn them on cd (with Nero) and look at it on tv or pc, the quality is not good. I have two cd-writers, on both the quality is bad. I cannot imagine that Nero works not well. Maybe Studio 8 gives bad quality? If i have files with little movement i make mpg2 files with TMPGenc and burn it with Nero. The quality on tv is very good. But files with much movement gives a fuzzy look, really bad, and a little blocking with TMPGenc (i use CBR, Highest Quality, 10 bits and 16:9 625 line Pal). Studio 8 gives just less fuzzy look, but much blocking. Can anybody gives me hints?

    Thanks, Stien[/size]

Nero is a poor encoder. Learn TMPGENC for encoding.

For more help please tell up the following.

What type of disc are you creating VCD or SVCD?

  3. Just to be sure. You used Pinnacle Studio 8 encoding engine to create MPEG file and not Nero. Am I right ?

  5. Not that I can help you, but.....

Here is what you are doing:

    1. Capture, Edit and Conert film in PS8 into mpeg2 file.

    2. Play your final mpeg2 file on PC and it looks good.

    3. Burn mpeg2 file with Nero on CD and you are not re-encoding it again.

    4. Whe you try to play file from CD, quality is worst then in step 2.

If this is the case, I have no idea. I am not sure if quiality of CD-R media can affect this ? Or maby DVD player can not handle the bit rate ?
