  1. I have a big mpeg (900MB) which I want to burn on cd as vcd. I now need to split the file as the content is +80 min (about 90).

I have tried to split it with TMPGEnc but then the audio get out of sync.

Does anyone know how to do it? I just want to split the file whitout losing the audio sync!

    Tommyknocker,
I have exactgly the same problem, it is the second disk that is out of sync. And ususally it is noticeable fairly quickly after the second disk starts to play.

Then does the second FILE (not the disk) play in synch?

Now we are getting somewhere. Note exactly where in the original video your second file begins. Load the original video into Gold Wave. Select Edit-->Marker-->Set. In the Start Marker box, leave the zeroes. In the End Marker box, enter the start time of the SECOND video file. Select OK. Select Edit-->Delete. Save as a wave file.

Load the SECOND video into TMPGEnc as input video. Load your new wave file as input audio. Select Start. The resultant file should be your second video file with audio in synch.

    basser,
nice try but my burner will not do 99 min cdrs.

    tommy,
to recap in my own words what you suggest is from the original and insync file split out the audio for the second portion using the known frame count where the first portion ended (that is 1 frame after the ending frame) up to the end of the file. Then in Tmpgenc load in the video for the second portion (which already exists from the original splitting) and the just extracted audio for the second protion and just simple remux them together again.
Did I catch your suggestion correctly??

    Thanks,
    Ed

I just hope I understand what you are saying. As for the audio for the second file, you will extract it from the original video, but only from where the second audio begins to the end. Are we on the smae page?

Yup. On the same page. I was only confused by your earlier remark
In the End Marker box, enter the start time of the SECOND video file. Select OK. Select Edit-->Delete
What you were saying was to delete the first part audio. Then all that is left is the second part audio which is what is really needed.
The last step was just to do a simple remux in tmpgenc. And then all should be well again.??

    Thanks,
    Ed

  15. Easiest way would be to demux the video, then remux with BBMpeg set to max file size of 500.
