  1. So I got everything to encode correctly and tried a few encoding tests...the video plays fine and the the audio is synched correctly and sounds great...but I can't figure out how to resize it correctly. Using what I think are the correct settings out of FitCD I end up outputting a ridiculously wrong framesize (the video is compressed into about a third of the screen, centered in the middle, and then stretched to the top of the screen, with about a quarter screen of black below it [!])

I followed the guide on converting pal to NTSC from this site so I assume I'm doing all that correctly, I just can't figure out how to configure FitCD to give me the right dimensions...or maybe its something in TMPGEnc...any help would be appreciated...I've been working on this all day...

  2. Ok explain this...

So I got so frustrated that I just decided to just take the uncompressed audio wav extracted with virtualdub and marry it to the straight up 25 frames video from the original file. I used the same steps I use with encoding SVCD's, corrected for overscan, VCD header trick, burned it and it's fine. How is that possible? I went through all these other steps using BeSweet and everything else in the guide, and I ignore all that and it plays fine? What the heck's going on? I mean it's definitely PAL...25 frames...does TMPGEnc do the conversion itself? What am I missing? What should I be looking for in the final result that might be wrong with it? The audio sounds great, the video is in the correct AR, and it's synched correctly...what could be wrong?
