  1. Hi, Sorry for the long post, but I'm having trouble with putting my DivX movie onto one VCD. The movie fits on one CD in DivX format (Xvid) (625 or so MB). I tried using the guide listed on this site, but it doesn't work for me. I put it through Goldwave to extract the WAV (925 or so MB), and then I put the file and WAV through TMPEG. The setting I used were: Non-Interlace, Bottom Field First (Field B), 4:3 525 line (NTSC, 704X480), Center Keep Aspect Ratio, 900kbits/sec, CBR, Resolution for video is 352X240 pixel, 23.976 fps. The Audio is 192 kbits/sec, samp freq is 44100, stream type is MPEG-1 Audio Layer II. Stream type is MPEG-1 Video-CD (Non standard (XVCD) doesn't work for my player. The movie is 92 minutes long. I tried using the template on the One CD Movie Guide, and used the bitrate calculator provided by TMEPG (CD-R 74 and 80 min (VCD/SVCD), outcome was 900 kbits/sec average video bitrate and 192 kbits/sec audio bitrate, and the estimated file size was 727.47 MB. I run the file through, letting it go on for about 8 hours, and when i check the ouput file, its 912 or so MB. Can somebody help me?!

  2. try tuning down your audio bitrate, or just use the new template from www.kvcd.net

  4. Thanks for the reply, I'll try that right now. Does it have to be a non standard VCD? My DVD player can't play XVCDs.....

92 min video should fit on a 80 min CD at video 950 kbps, audio 224 kbps.
This would (of course) create an XVCD, since the video bitrate must be 1150 for a standard VCD.
1 hr 19 min is max movie length to squeeze onto a 80 min CD (without overburning) and still keep within the VCD standard. There's nothing you can do about that value, except using CD's with larger capacity (90/99 min, that, if you're nitpicking, already are out of standards) where you can squeeze in 1 hr 29 min/1hr 38 min of VCD movie.

  6. are you sure that your dvd player wont play xvcd's? if you create your own one disc template in tmpgenc the bitrate you get will vary, depending on the length of your movie. the templates you get at www.kvcd.com wont play on my dvd player but the one i made up myself, i've never had a problem with. the quality you get can be quite superb and you can fit around 2 hours of movie onto 1 disc with great results

  7. I actually don't really know if it can play XVCDs or not, I checked the forum for my player (LV60): VCDHELP LV60. Some said it worked for them, others said it didn't, so I guess I'll just have to try it out! Hey davemcg37, what's you template? Could you tell me, so that I may try it on my player please? Oh well, I guess I'll try use kvcd's templates. Thanks everyone!
