just ripped using claddvd, done dvd2avi - now what

ive been struggling to get a dvd that is over 4.3gb onto disc.
ive ripped using claddvdxp, which ripped the vob files etc
it then went automatically to dvd2avi program and succesfully did that bit.
now what

movie i have is panic room pal
using athlon amd 1.8mhz
pioneer a04
windows xp

there has been some discussion of encoding at SVCD bitrated only at 352x480 which is a supported DVD resolution. Haven't done it myself, but if I were to I would frameserve with AVISynth to CCE and decode the ac3 audio with BeSweet, re-encode to mp2 and multiplex with TMPG. Maybe worth a try. DVD burner is in my near future and that's what I'm gonna do......I hope.

Assuming you want to burn a DVD-R:

Launch TMPGenc and re-encode the file, pointing to your .d2v and .wav files.
Make sure you set the aspect ratio in the advanced settings. (center, keep original aspect ratio).
When you get to the blue bar diagram, showing how much space your file is taking up, adjust the bitrate of the file to reach approx. 4000 Mbyte.
\Click next and let TMPG encode the file (takes about 3-4 hours in single pass.

Then launch Spruce and let Spruce create AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files based on the output from tmpgenc.

Launch your DVD burning software (Primo Prassi or Gear Pro DVD for instance) and burn your disc.
