  1. Hi there..
    I would like to use Blackout's DVD ripping guide, however I already have ripped the DVD to my HDD using Smartripper. This does not save the chapters file. I have tried to use ChapterXtracter and save the file as chapters.chp, but when I import it into maestro it only imports about half of the chapters..
    Has anyone else had this problem - or might be able to help ?

    I find using the DVD2SVCD program to create my .m2v and .ac3 files great. Its all built into the one program and uses CCE.

    Any comments would be apreciated !

  2. There could be one very nice solution...

    as you say you use DVD2SVCD... (That's the main problem)

    If you want that maestro will understand those DVD2SVCD m2v-files and chapters you have to do little trick... just do everything like you always have done in DVD2SVCD... BUT... when CCE starts (and have save *.ecl file) shutdown DVD2SVCD! then use ChapterXtractor and open the main movie ifo and go to the Format tab and define a new format:

    Presets -> CCE
    Format -> chapter=%f:

    others blank!

    Then you should get something like this:

    chapter=0:
    chapter=4251:
    chapter=13072:
    chapter=21307:
    chapter=35685:
    chapter=40209:
    chapter=51740:
    chapter=63557:
    chapter=70551:
    chapter=72514:
    chapter=73944:
    chapter=75764:
    chapter=79469:
    chapter=89349:
    chapter=106873:
    chapter=117169:
    chapter=126217:
    chapter=132054:

    Copy that! Then open the CCE project file (*.ecl) with notepad! Paste those chapters end of the file and SAVE it...

    Then open the CCE and open that *.ecl file and encode!

    I'm not sure if this works... because I always use the Robshot Method with CCE... It has always worked for me... (chapters and subtitles)

    [sorry my poor English]

    have you set your time code correctly in maestro so that it is either zero based or asset based and if so , have you set the correct offset if it is required

  6. Well if that wont work then use Robshot method with CCE... it looks very difficult method but it works 100%...

    There is also option that you can use those "old" DVD2SVCD files in DVDmaestro after you have done one "new" *.mpv file with Robshot method...

    ok I explain it:

    First goto doom9 and read "Getting the best out of CCE"-guide

    Then make the STEP's 1-3 only!!!

    Now you have one 100% working file that you can use in DVDmaestro!

    Now little trick:

    Open the DVDmaestro and import that NEW *.mpv file then the OLD audio file. Then import chapters(should work) and after that import subtitles(Should work)... NOW delete that NEW *.mpv file and import that OLD *.mpv file!!!!!!! This method have allways worked for me...

    But the best result you can get when you use all steps in that Doom9's guide...

    Thanks Adder_78, You are quite right. Even tho DVD2SVCD may make it very simple, once you get the hang of the robshot method - it works out better ! No problems with chapters any more !

    Cheers !

    just select the "video timeline" (click the left mouse button) and then hit the delete
