I have an .avi file that I want to convert to VCD.
When I load the file into TMPGEnc it says the file is
Video type: non-interlace
Aspect ratio: 1:1(vga)
When I convert to VCD it is squished. I need to stretch it left and right.
I would assume that I need to put borders on top and bottom to keep my VCD aspect ratio correct. I need to stay compliant to play on my home DVD player.
I also use VirualDub, if there is anything there that might help.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

When you load it into TMPGEnc, select the appropiat template using the Load function.
Hello. -
I loaded the standard vcd template, and when I converted it was squeezed from the sides. It seems, I need to add a border on top and bottom to maintain my standard vcd settings.
Would there be a template that would do this for me.
This would seem to give it the appearance of wide screen.
Thanks -
But is there a template that will put a border above and below the image so as to retain the proper aspect ratio instead of being stretched on the vertical? this border would be included in the total dimension of the video. This would make the output file appear to be wide screen.
When I use the "video arrange method" in tmpgenc it creates a non standard file. -
Thanks everyone.
I finally figured if I use the standard vcd template and only change video arrange to "full screen (keep aspect ratio". It does what I need.
