Automating VCD

Total newbie, here, please be kind, patient.

I am a programmer. I have a program which produces computer CD's or DVD's with HTML and PowerPoint content. I would also like to make the media readable on consumer DVD movie players.

I am actively reading as much of the content in this site to bring me up-to-speed as quickly as possible. Great stuff. Many thanks to the contributors.

My question is this: I am producing PowerPoint content using COM objects and automation. Is similar automation possible with VCD authoring? If so, what tools offer COM objects in addition to the consumer user interface?

apparently you didn't get much feedback on yr request; I'm also starting to look for ways to fully automate the process of capturing -> encoding -> formatting via scripts/programs and was curious to know if you got any response (via email or other), or have found something of interest since then.

If anything, this post will cause yr topic to resurface... for a while!
