  1. I have downloaded movies which seem to be in rare format. Can someone please tell me what do I do next to be able to view them on my DVD or pc? Some of the encoding applications are new to me and I cannot understand some of it. I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks much!

I suggest that you download the nimo codec pack... after you install it your media player should play just about anything

  3. You can download an identity tool and use it to figure out what codecs you need for your video file...

    http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

If it turns out you don't have a codec that's needed, then all you have to do is go download it from a web site.. such as

    http://www.digital-digest.com/

  5. ok go to tools to your left and dload tmpgenc.
    open that
use the vcd or svcd template
browse for the movie and click on it hit next till you come to the screen that asks you where to output
browse for the spoy you want to output to
click next and it will convert
to burn to compliant vcd you need a good burn program use nero, or ulead dvd moviefactory to burn a compliant vcd, or svcd

use the search here to find topics in the past relating to this. research and do the footwork then ask intelligent questions. hope i helped

  6. Instead of Nero or the other one you listed, can't I just use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 which is the newest version out. I purchased it not long ago?

And, by the way, thank you.

You could use Easy CD 5 Platinum, but only if you want to go bald (it is VERY buggy).

    Follow this guide:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

to get mpegs of the required length then burn the mpeg with Easy CD 5.

    Regards,

    Rob
