Problem playing mp3 burt on DVD+-RW by sony 500U

I have a sony 500U dvd burner. When I burn mp3 on DVD+RW or DVD-RW it doesn't play on the stand alone DVD player(Go-Video 853 not 855)
Is there anything special to be done?

There are three problems with that:

- Few DVD players play mp3
- of the ones that do a lot don't support mp3 on DVD
- A lot of stand alone players don't do RW at all

wow thats a new one, i put 700 mp3s on a dvdr once
cant believe one you do it just to play in standalone,
bet youll never find one that will,at least now just now,
cant wait that dvd player thatll play divx

Apex 500,600, 660,700 or Sampo players running firmware for the 631cf can play Mp3's in a DVDR. This firmware was mod in a way the player detects the DVD disc as a data cd. The option is called MAXICD is in the "Missing Links" menu. OFF would allow to play a DVD, ON your huge Mp3/DVD disc.

The Apex 1100w sold at WalMart for $59 WILL play mp3's on DVD-R/RW (not sure about +R/RW). Just make sure the serial number ends in "08".

my Norcent dp300 plays just about everything I throw at it. DVD+RW MP3 with no problem
