Problem playing DVD-R Movie on PSX2

I burn a DVD movie with menus and everything. I load it into PSX2 and menu loads up fine. I selected one menu item and select play. Video play fine at start but hang after a few sec. I did two burns(one with ulead, the other with Prassi) to try if it will work but same problem. Both disc work fine on Computer and Standalone DVD Player. I'm not sure what causing the problems. Is there anyone having the same problems playing DVD-R on PSX2 and have solve the problem?

I'm not positive, but it may be the Memorex disks. Strange, b/c I've used TDK, Imation, and cheap Meritline DVDPro, which all play fine on my PS2. I use Ulead DVD Moviefactory to author and burn (very basic, but works for me). I've also used Sonic's DVDit PE v2.5, but I get freezed disks in my Apex 1100w and PS2, so for now, I mostly use Moviefactory.

I am assuming you are using standard DVD format (bitrate and aspect ratio) for your videos?

Older versions of the PS2 have trouble playing DVD-Rs. My newer version plays them flawlessly. If you have an old version than you can upgrade with CD that comes with the "official" PS2 remote.

I just bought the PSX 2 remote and tried to upgrade the DVD player on PSX2 to 2.12 but the installation fail at about 25% . Is 2.12 the newest driver?
