Thanks for all the help I have got so far. I have a few more questions about this.

I have a raw 720 x 480 avi file take from a minidv. I want to create an autorun vcd to be played on a computer only. I want to create the vcd at the same 720 x 480 resolution as the source file and have the bitrate at 2500 for better quality.

My source avi is made for a 4:3 screen. What Aspect Ratio setting should I use in in the main video stream setting in tmpgenc. I see the 4:3 525 line NTSC setting but I wonder if I should choose 1:1 VGA setting since this will be played on a computer only.

In the Advanced settings I see the settings for the source aspect ratio.
What should I choose here. My source is 720 x 480 avi file.
    I see:
    1:1 VGA
    4:3 525 line (NTSC)
    4:3 525 line (NTSC,704 x 480)
    4:3 Display

If you're intended to play the VCD at your PC and TV, then pick one of the VCD templates (if you're living somewhere in the US or Japan, that would be a NTSC template, for Europe you would use a PAL template, otherwise figure it out yourself).

You must need the 4:3 aspect ration, while the source is 720x480 (this is NTSC btw), which is the size of a 4:3 (normal tv size) screen.

Only use 1:1 if your source doesn't comply the usual TV-resolutions or if you're not intended to view the vcd at your tv (1:1 doesn't do any required rescaling).
