I have Memorex CD-RW that I cannot erase. I have used Nero, VCD Easy and HP Record now. I have five CD's and none of them erase. Has anyone else had this?

Cant really offer you an answer here, but i can let you know that i too just picked up a 5 pack of memorex CD-RW's and they SUCK
Of the 5..
2 wont allow me to burn on them.. (yes i tried doing a full erase, even tho i shouldnt have to)
2 would burn fine.. but not work.. in anything.. at all
1 burned fine.. played fine..THE FIRST TIME.. after a full erase and reburn.. wouldnt play in ANYTHING
Didn't really think that memorex was a bad company to get CDR and RWs from, so maybe a bad batch? -
I THINK YOU GUYS GOT A BAD BATCH....I HAVE USED MOSTLY MEMOREX CDRW AND HAVE ONLY HAD ONE FAIL ON ME LIKE THAT...MEMOREX IS THE ONLY ONE THAT REALLY WORKS FOR ME...JG

I'd agree that memorex 4x CDRW suck!! But at some point in this thread might have nothing to do with media like cannot play CDRW in anything or cannot erase.
First, I've found out that if you burn CDRW without "finalize CD" then you might not be able to use this CDRW with regular CD-rom drive and/or dvd drive(still can with cd-recorder drive). Second, If you installed too many burner software together like NERO and EZ then that might cause to not be able to erase CDRW. Or if CDRW is burnt in High speed format then you cannot erase in lower speed burner for example I have two burner, 24x10x40 and 32x12x40, If I burn a CDRW at 12x then I won't be able to erase this 12x-burnt CDRW in 24x10x40 burner.
BTW I bought 5 packs 4x memorex CDRW and only 2 that work fine. Now I'm using 10x memorexs and have no problem at all. -
