help, i just got a dvd with three films on one from the market, teh quality of the films is not too good but what shocked me is that when i look at the size it is over 6.00 gb, my question is how? what disc's do they use when they copy films?

You mean commercial dvds? They can fit up to about ~8 GB on one side. http://www.dvddemystified.com/dvdfaq.html#3.3
DVDrs only support the dvd-5 format. -
how would they get a cormercial dvd? teh dvd was a hanibal trilogy, it had silence of the lambs, hannibal and red dragon on it so it cant be a comercial dvd, red dragon was blatently a vcd rip

Just because it's not legitimate or legal does not mean they are not commercially produced.

Its me again.
Is the DVD silver on the read side. DVD silvers can hold up to 18Gb (so I'm told). They are a favorite of pirates in Hong Kong. You send a movie of to a factory that will burn your movie to a DVD Silver. Provided you are buying about 100 copies of each. You then distribute this to pirates all over the world and make your money that way.
I used to import some of these from a guy in Sweden.
