i face following problem: when i make a svcd out of an ntsc-mpg-file (480x480px etc.) with nero 5.5.8.0 and try to play it in my standalone-player dv530 the picture is horizontally upset (to broad enough). it looks as if i watched a 16:9-picture in 4:3-modus.
from my point of view, my tv and my dvd-player are capable of handling ntsc and i already tried ntsc and pal in the nero settings but i didn't help a thing and obviously i'm making an error.
has anybody an advice for me?
thanks in advance,
joerg
ps: i nearly forgot to say that the svcds work fine when watching them with powerdvd on my computer :-(

The H and V information in the SVCD header maybe incorrect.
Some pioneer player plays SVCD with the wrong aspect ratio,
see posting on pioneer DV353K. Those guys change the DVD's
TV setting differently to watch SVCD. see comments in DVD player lists. -
i already tried that. i believe that it has something to do with the 'ntsc' format. iirc i already had some 'pal' svcds that played correctly.
just to give full information (perhaps someone can figure sthg. out):
