  1. I just put together a DVD with menu's, JPEG's and movies. These movies are all shot in PAL, and use 720*576 for my resolution. I'm planning to send this one from Europe to US, can anyone tell me what is gonna happen when it's used there? I know I should make the screen to 720*480 for NTSC TV's, to not get any dropouts at the top and bottom, but what about interlace, frame-rate, lines, etc? Who knows what I should do or if it works?

    thanks

  2. Well, first thing to do is check if the intended recipient has a DVD player and TV that can handle PAL discs. Some can and some can't and it seems there is less chance of a US resident having equipment that can handle PAL than there is of a European residents stuff handling NTSC. Anyway, if they can't handle PAL, there are a couple of guides on format conversion in the convert guides on this site. Try this one:

    requires re-encoding I am afraid.
