  1. I was looking first at the AVDC-100 to transfer VHS tapes to digital....but then I started reading about the MVR1000.

The main thing I'm worried about is time to complete the project. With ADV-1000 I'll be stuck doing a ton of encoding, but not so with the MVR1000, correct? If I have a 2 hour vhs tape, I want to transfer that to the computer and then burn it right away, and I'll need the MVR1000 to do it, right?

My other question is, what's the difference between the MVR1000 and the AMBER?

    Thanks a ton everybody!

  2. Ok, I'm a little confused now. I realize this will still take me 2 hours to capture a 2 hour video. So my question is, is there anyway to do this faster? For instance a vhs/dv deck...can I copy from the vhs to the dv any faster than real time?
