New to the VCD world please help

Ok here Is what Im wanting to do: I have download a movie from a Peer2Peer website(kazaa) and Now I wish to put it on CDR. I have Nero 5.5 and a few other software that I have read up on to use like Pansonic Encoder and some other Encoders. I have made one VCD and it played but the Video was poor. The video picture was very good when I watched it on the computer. What do I need to do inorder to get the best picture and audio possible ??

Jim, when you ask for help, please provide as much information as possible - what was the initial file, size, pixels, format, which encoder did you use, what parameters, pixels, format, bitrate, etc.
The information you provided above is totally useless.

It's a loooooong way, and you will not become a guru after reading one or two answers in the forum. Most of all - read the reviews and start experiments. You will need at least one CDRW in the beginning.
