    First: what is it?

Second: where can I get it?

Third: will it help me get VCDs playing perfectly with my Panasonic player? Cuz I'm getting some 'halts' here...

    thanks

    1. Panasonic MPEG Encoder Adobe Premiere plugin version (also exists as a stand-alone version). It is an MPEG-1 (and the most recent version does MPEG-2 as well) encoder. As it is an export plugin to Adobe Premiere, it means that you can export an Adobe Premiere project as MPEG-1/2 using this plugin.

Being an Adobe Premiere export plugin, it also works (in a hack sort of way) with a number of other programs -- important, FlaskMPEG.
    2. You can download a demo (and buy it online) from here: http://pdn.securethink.co.jp/en/product/fset_J13.html
    3. If it is a hardware problem with your player, the answer is NO. If it is a software encoding settings problem, the answer is MAYBE, but you could also then fix your problem by simply adjusting what you are doing now.

but how will I know if it is a hardware problem with my player?

  3. To start with, give more DETAILS.

For example, how you made the disc. What programs, what settings, etc.

What exact problems are you having on your player? Some "halts" doesn't tell me anything...

I have a Panasonic DVD player.

I don't think that the Panasonic plug-in or stand alone encoder works any better or worse on a Panasonic player than any other. I don't think it was developed specifically a Panasonic player, but as general encoding software.

I think they are developed totally seperately.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

    vitualis,

sorry... the MPEGs are a show recorded live... it's Dave Matthews Band Live In Chicago in three parts (~500mb each). When I first tried to burn it to VCD in Nero it complained about the format, so I re-encoded it with TMPEGEnc. I use the wizard "NTSC Film" with all defaults.

Nero didn't complain and burned the VCD, when I first watched it, it halted after about 15min of play. I got pissed and burned it again and then it only halted like 3s from the end, but still I wasn't satisfied.

I download VCDEasy (which I didn't get CDRDAO to work, but that's another topic) and built BIN/CUE and then burned with Nero. Still got the halt 3s from the end. Could the problem be in the source MPEG? But shouldn't TMPEGEnc fix it? (I tried repairing it - multiplex).

    Thanks

  6. If you have an internal IDE CD-RW burner, it will almost definitely work with CDRDAO. Your most likely problem is an ASPI layer deficiency. Try downloading and installing ForceASPI (+ reboot).

    This should fix that problem.

As to your description, it still sounds like a possible media compatibility issue... I suggest that you try some other brands of media and see what happens. It does not sound like a source MPEG problem.

    Best of luck.
