  1. I just ripped Ali G the movie (pal) to my hard drive,run it through dvd2avi.Now the movie is interlaced,so how do i know which feild comes first??

    When i load the file into tmpgenc its sets it to bottomfeild first is this right ??

    What do you mean by this? Both PAL and NTSC are interlaced formats.

    I would start at TOP FIELD FIRST. Run your video through Bitrate Viewer to tell you if the TOP FIELD FLAG is set. Run a short, high motion clip to see if the flag is correct (it will be jerky if you select the wrong field order).

    tmpgenc always says b first even when a first is the correct order.

  4. i done 2 quick samples,on with the top field first,the second with the bottom field first.On my pc and on my tv they both looked the same to me.No jerlyness or anything.

    So wha sould i set as the first field ?

  5. Download bitrate viewer It will tell you if the top field is first or not as qwell as other usefull info like Progressive, etc...most of the stuff you need to input in CCE are listed there. WHile you currently don't need to know a lot for tmprg, it's tstill a good tool to have for the future.

    So seen as it says ' Field topfirst: Yes ' , im right to say i set the field option in advanced in tmpgenc shoul b set to top fild first.
