OK i have a 16.9 movie im gonna encode to svcd. When playing the dvd on my player and WS tv the picture is full screen ,but when in tmpgenc when i load the movie in and in advanced settings i set the source to 16.9 full screen keep aspect ratio it then gets black bars at the top and bottom. If i was to set the source to 4.3 then i wouldnt.when the vobs r open in dvd2avi so i can save the project theres no borders,or very very small boarders
Can anyone give some advice as to y when playing the 16.9 dvd theres no bars but when encoding and setting to 16.9 keep ratio i get the black bars ?
Also on another movie thats 2.35:1 which has black bars when playing on my player and WStv,when setting tmpgenc source to 16.9 full screen keep aspect ratio the black bars double in size?
Thanks all.

If it already has black lines, then it isn't anamorphic. You will need to use 4X3 for those as the letterboxing is hard codded on the video. For anamorphic 16X9 , no black bars. Set your source as 16X9, Full screen: Keep aspect ratio. And set the output to 16X9.
EDIT: Some 16X9 Anamorphic's do have Small thin black lines. Treat these as Regular Anamorphic. -
ive tryed ' Set your source as 16X9, Full screen: Keep aspect ratio. And set the output to 16X9.' b4 but when i set the out put to 16.9 aswell the writing is of the screen. My wide screen tv.
Whet ever i encode i leave the output as 4.3
What if i leave the output and the sorce to 4x3,i think it give the same as 16.9 output and 16.9 source.
oh u said anamorphic movies have no black lines but some of my movies that r anamorphic do have black lines.i.e. LOTRs ,fast and the furious and 1 or 2 others.
