I recently bought an Apex AD-800 as a second DVD player (only $78 bucks at Sam's). But I'm now having some problems with the audio. The Dolby 5.1 sounds great, it plays VCDs that I've made and MP3 discs with no problem. The problem occurs when a DVD has non-5.1 sound which is usually during the menu screens of most DVDs. The noise produced sounds sort of like an electronic version of a "raspberry" and is VERY loud. Once I get past the menu and into the movie and 5.1 sound, everything is fine again. But as you can imagine, this is very frustrating. I don't know if I have messed with one of the many settings that I shouldn't have messed with, or if there is just a problem with the player. Does anybody have any ideas? I don't think it was doing this when I first hooked it up, but I didn't play with it enough before I noticed this to be absolutely sure.
