    I think that those wide screen movie that I used TMPGenc
    croping tool with top and bottom black border, use
    less CD Disc space, then let TMPGenc figured it out.

    Is this true ?

    If using VBR, yes I believe it is true. Not when useing CBR encoding though, the file size should be the same with or without black bars.
