Hello! I have just baught a new dvd-burner. And I have a lot of old divx with ac3 I want to make dvds out of. How do I do this?
Have tried tmpeg. It turns out as a mpeg2 with stereo.
have tried to read all the help topics but haven't really understood much.
Is there a easy way to do this?

Briefly.
Use virtualdub to strip out the audio using direct stream copy, to a seperate file. This then contains just the AC3 soundtrack, rename it as movie.ac3.
Use TmpGenc to encode your Divx to mpeg-2. before hitting START, select the video only radio button in the bottom right hand corner of TmpGenc. This will produce a movie.m2v file.
Now look to the guides on the left of this page on how to author to DVD with Spruce.
Hope this helps -
It works out fine untill spruceup....
"Unsupported media : Invalid Wave Format (Only WAVE_FORMAT_PCM format is supported" shows up, when the program tries to add the .ac3 file.
Then "Media file error with movie.ac3"
I have only a trial copy of spruce up. Do I need the registered one for this?
What do i do to fix this problem? -
Hmmm, Yeh, you may well need the registered version of Spruce for AC3 support. I know the trial version won't play AC3 audio in the preview mode but I thought it could import it. Not sure though.
One possibility is that sometimes vdub can create errors in the stripped AC3 file. Use google to find AC3fix (or ac3_fix) and run your audio file through that before importing, it may fix this problem (and be sure to have renamed the audio file as movie.ac3, do not leave it as .wav!).
