HACKING A PHILIPS DVD-R 880/980

wot hack are you wanting...wot kind of problem are you having....
I've got an 880 recordable and am running a ROWA dvd player with it...
Some dvds are coming up fine to record but others are prohibiting the 880 to record showing "copy protection".
I know its the ROWA thats causing this as,a friend i know,is running the same 880 but with the kiiro 838d and his is fine...
the only difference being....his kiiro doesn't play back backups of wot he's done whereas mine does,so between us,the world is our oyster..lol

I don't want to copy DVD's from one player to another...I just want to be able to hack my player/recorder to be multi-region. Thanks for your help anyway.
