  2. It's more than possible to fit 90 mins movie in 2 CDs with SVCD format.

First of all, if you havent read this, pls read before "http://www.vcdhelp.com/xvcd.htm"

A lot of encoder software will do like TMPGEnc, DVD2SVCD, CCE etc.. If this your first attempt for SVCD you might have to install dvd player software such as PowerDVD, Windvd in order to get mpeg-2 code or you can install only mpeg-2 code (find from tool section). You need this code in order to edit, view or load mpeg2 (SVCD) file in your computer.

How? it's simple as you already know, just lower some bitrate either video or audio. At default supervideoCD template(480x480/576 @ CBR 2520kbits, audio 44.1 KHz @224kbit) in TMPGEnc you can fit only 40 mins into 1 CD, then you have to load "unlock template". Now you can change all setting in TMPGEnc. I'd suggest you go with 2-passVBR @ avg 2200, max 2520, min300 or CQ @ max 2300 min 0. You might as well consider for CVD (res 352x480/576).

  4. Did you make this SVCD yourself or downloaded it off the net?

  5. You might use an old version which in not support for directly encode mpeg2. The other way around is to use dvd2avi to save project of that mpeg2 file. Then open "d2v" file instead of mpeg2.
