Hi
Just started trying to capture from VHS source played on an S-VHS deck connected to my PC via my Sony camcorder using DV passthrough. The capture shows a line of noise at the bottom of the video on all source tapes.
Please can anyone tell me how to get rid of this?
Thanks

I process captured AVIs from VHS source by TMPGEnc . There I must do this in ClipFrame dialog - set Bottom (number of lines) to value by which the flickering lines disappear (roughly scan the file with marker). When I process to SVCD format, this value is 9, but maybe it differs. Then check 'Bottom Mask'. This will remove flickering lines and inserts new steady ones. I can choose color of new ones , but never needed other than black. Other programs wil do this their way, but the principle is the same - replace flickering lines.
