  1. I captured video from my DV via firewire using Uleads Video Studio 5. The video was captured with one of its premade templates with this setup:

    Frame-based
    24 Bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
    (DVD-NTSC)
    Video Data Rate 4000 Kbps
    Audio Bit Rate 384 Kbps
Layer 2, 48 kHz, Joint stereo

The video looks flawless, exactly as if I was watching on the camera. The problem I have is after I convert the AVI file through Roxio Video Pack 5, the video runs at about 2x the whole time. The picture quality is excellent but is jerky the whole time. I am trying to convert it using the preset DVD NTSC conversion and get the bad results. There aren't too many options to change other than the size but I left it to keep the aspect ratio. Has anyone had this problem with any other program.

  2. The converted video was extremely choppy so I tried to convert the captured video through Tmpegenc since I could not figure the problem with videopack 5. I had the exact same problem. I messed around with the settings and changed the CBR from 3000 to 4000, interlace, and bottom field B. Damn, that made a world of difference. Now the playback is smooth through Tmpegenc but I still think the video quality is much better through Roxio VideoPack so I will try to figure that out.
