  1. I have been an avid Video editing freak for a long time but I have never come across a simple program that displays information about your files.

What I am looking for is a simlpe program that can tell me everything possible about any video file. For example is it MPEG2, MPEG.. What is the size or apsect ratio. Was it coded correctly with the right dimension.

    Any info would be appreciated..

I don't know if there is a single program for this, but with ULEAD MF (or MS), you can get any info you need, whenever you are opening an avi, with just pressing the info button.

You must never have heard about BitRate Viewer. It does basically what you want.

Go to www.softlandmark.com/VideoVarious.htm. You'll find various utilities (among them BitRate Viewer).
