When I've made a SVCD with an interlaced mpeg, I always get a shaky image when I pause my DVD-player. The field order is ok and normal motion and everything else is just fine. It's just when I pause it (esp during a scene with motion) that the image shakes. Does anyone know if and how this might be fixed? It should be possible because when I pause a DVD with interlaced footage it's just fine.

What you are seeing is completly normal. You might be able to correct it with your DVD player. Some players have a "Still frame" option for feild or frame, set it to field. This will cause a loss of resolution when you pause, but it will not be jumpy.

My DVD-player has this option but when I select it a "DVD" logo appears so I guess it only works for DVDs. The picture remains jumpy but now I know I might be able to correct it when I want to record DVDs in the future. Thx for your info!
