I am experiencing audio delay problems--in the order of 10 to 15 sec!!
After successfully ripping a DVD, I use DVD2AVI to create a WAV audio file. (Have also used BeSweet to create an AC3 file.) Both sound good.
I then encode to MPG using the Main Concept Standalone Encoder (v1.2) directly from the VOB file. It's fast and looks good.
However, when I multiplex them together (MPG + AC3) using Tempgen, there is a delay in the audio of about 10 sec. Wow!!! I have also used the Main Concept encoder with the VOB file as the video source and the WAV file as the audio source with the same result.
Both the WAV and MPG files indicate they are the same length, but there is this delay for some reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try DVD2AVI with your vob's or mpeg2's like this.
When you choose "save project",it creates audio file(*.mpa),and names it for example like this:"part1 mpa1todelay-780ms.mpa".The value -780 is the difference between audio and video.Everytime when i'm dealing with mpeg2 files,i'm faced with this problem.Though it's not a big problem, because DVD2AVI tells me the correct value to use with encoding.Hope this will help you. -
Since DVD2AVI doesn't do IFO parsing, it was said there might be synch problem with audio it decoded. But I rarely run into such problem. I think it's because I always use D2V to frame serve and WAV to convert to mpa, as they were both created by DVD2AVI. In your case, you didn't use D2V at all, although that shouldn't be a problem. The scale of out of synch indicates that
a) you forgot to apply 3:2 pulldown if you IVTCed
b) some still menus or images in VOBs screwed up A/V synch
Are you sure you ripped movie in IFO mode?
