I got a few different versions of the Ring as AVI files. Each of them is blank when I try to watch them. I think I have all the right programs installed. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

for most movies in avi format you will need the DivX codec. You can get it at divix.com

I installed DivX 5 and tried playing the AVI clips on Windows Media Player, DivX player, and BS Player. I Even tried converting it to an MPEG with TMPGEnc. But the screen is just blank. Any suggestions would be appreciated...thanks

Look on the left panel "Other" "tools" and "Other Useful tools" GSPOT is first on the list.

Hope you are not another KAZAA fake movie casualty.

This will tell you what codecs were used.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

  6. It's probably a fake. Check the length (hour/min/sec) in the download's file info box and look for an alternate file length. This is prevelent in the P2P arena.

  8. this doesn't really have anything to do with the post....but which "The Ring" did you get? The orginal was a japanese made movie. Hollywood just remade the movie.
