  1. Whenever I playback particular DVDRIPS, I notice occasional high-pitched beeps. Is there any way to remove these, and does anybody know why they're there in the first place?

    A stand alone DVD player?

    With my Toshiba 3755 if I just as slightly go over the
    1150 VCD rate the sound start pinging like cracy.

    Are they bleep's at the join of the Vob files ?

    That's possible. They are usually accompanied by blocks on the screen,
    or discolorations, though. I'm not sure if this means anything.

    The beeps occur when I play the video on my PC thru Windows Media Player or the DivX player.

    Yes, sounds like the join of the VOB's what are you using ? its not doing a very good job when it picks up the next VOB.

    I use Smartripper to rip, and Dvdx 1.7 to convert.

    They might not be all that bad on a DVD player...
