  1. Hi all

With the new build of cce (2.66) i thought id just ask you mpeg2 encoders how you all tend to load the m2v file into cce.

Ive been using cce2.5 for probably about a year now and im still using the good ole avisynth method, which does give pretty good performance.

The newer versions obviously dont include .avs and was wondering if theres any decent ways to get .m2vs to encode, im not a big fan of the traditional vfapi method (.avi) or the incredibly slow vdub framserving.

I would like to use some of the features in the newer versions though, so im not looking for any performance increases, just a decent way to use it.

Im hoping im missing some new way with some new software

    Thanks

The newest versions of CCE support avisynth scripts directly. For any version that doesnt you can use Link2 and you will be able to still load the avs file but you lose the speed increase since you cannot keep the source YUV, of course this only applies to DVD sources.

    evening Niceone,

i'm a little confused w/ your *.m2v statement. But, in any case... rest
assured. If you w/ your *.m2v importing to CCE. Just follow this guide
if you wanna encode (in your case, based on your *.m2v as source, I'm
assuming you are re-encoding) anyways... ...just load your *.m2v file(s)
into DVD2AVI and create your *.d2v project file(s)
    - - - - Oops, this piece accedentally left out of my usual cut and paste haste
    * you feed the *.d2v into VFAPIConv-EN.exe to convert to psuedo avi
    * then follow below.
    - - - -
Then, just drag them into CCE as usual.
Case you didn't know, DVD2AVI accepts *.m2v and *.mpv files, so you
should be alright. Try this out if it's you only alternative.

  4. the previous guy seemed to understand my question, and of course i know that dvd2avi supports m2v and .mpv which are the exact same thing anyway, how would I have used cce for the past year without dvd2avi.

However i didnt realise in later versions of cce you could use .d2v files directly, ive tried this and cant seem to get it to work, perhaps its only one of the later versions

You cannot directly open .d2v files in CCE since they are in propriatary format. You can use the VFAPICOnverter to make the .d2v (or .tpr ) project into a .avi file. That .avi file can be opened by CCE 2.5x and 2.66.x

    Cheers
