    Hi,

I created a SVCD from my video8 home movies.
    I used dvd2svcd + CCE 2.5 for encoding, VBR 500 min, 2700 avg, 3500 max.
It plays perfectly on my PC using PowerDVD, WMP, but I have audio sync problems when I play it on my DVD player (APEX 1200 ).
    What can be wrong?
Is it possible that this happens because my SVCD is PAL, but I play it on NTSC TV (the DVD player does the conversion) ?

    Thanks

    Super Video-CD NTSC (MPEG-2 480x480 29.97fps CBR 2520kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    Super Video-CD NTSC Film (MPEG-2 480x480 23.976fps CBR 2520kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

    Super Video-CD PAL (MPEG-2 480x576 25fps CBR 2520kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

So does your DVD player play non standard SVCD's ?

VBR 500 min, 2700 avg, 3500 max, may be the problem

Yes, VBR 500 min, 2700 avg, 3500 max are XSVCD and my player plays it.
Actually I figured out what was the problem:
the culprit was that smiling pumpkin (title picture) which is created by DVD2SVCD and is shown for few seconds before the main movie.
Some players (apex 1200, 3201 and some toshibas) have problem playing such SVCD.
I removed the title picture and the problem is gone!
