I have a 900mhz Tbird which I am running Win2000 software on it
I have 256Meg memory, and running the software (with the latest
downloads) that came with the card. I also have a 40 Gig ata 100 drive. The problem is with anything other than MPEG 1 capture I still get a lot of frame drops. It was worse with Win ME.
I have no clue as to why this is happening, Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am hammer ready with the card.![]()

we've posted the install procedure several times, so you can search the forum for a more detailed explanation, but the short version:
win2k:
install directx 8
install directx 8 dv/vidcap update
install driver 5.13.1.192 (something like that)
install MMC 7.1
install DVD 4.1 (yes, even if you don't have a dvd-rom)
also install the latest build of the Promise ATA100 drivers if you have the onboard ATA100 controller. if you bought a western digital drive, make sure you enabled DMA66/100 with the 'Data Lifeguard' disk, as the drive is default to DMA33
