I have tried and tried to get the jerky video to go away, with no luck. sometimes it doesnt jerk, but then i can use the same setup on another file and it does jerk. the weird thing is that my dvd players timer is like running at twice real time. what i mean by that is that if it is 45 mins. the movie isnt over for 90 mins. i was wandering if this had something to do with it. i am running at 480 x 480 mpeg2. tried vbr and cq with no luck. i am now trying kvcd's templates. if anyone has some ideas help me or send me there template that works great. i cant go higher that 2500 bitrate.

what is the original source? ntsc, pal or ntscfilm?
if ntscfilm it could be because you need the 3:2 pulldown on playback encoded when converting -
I would agree... frame rate mismatch.
As for the time thingee. Since SVCD is 2x and VCD or CD-Audio is 1x DVD player is showing the time in 1x time ( place on the disk ) rahter than the true running time of the MPEG. At 30 minutes into the movie you will have gone through ~60 minutes of the disc.

thx, but i was using the 3 2 pulldown. like i said. it only does it sometimes.
