  1. I'm a complete and total newbie to all of this, so please bear with me.

The other day I bought a CD-RW drive and was playing around with it. I recorded some MPEGs to a CD and tried playing it on my DVD player, but the MPEGs don't show up. Can somebody help me out here?

    Thanks.

You then have to check whether your DVD is compatable to paly VCD/SVCD/CDR (check here).

  3. Thanks for the speedy reply.

Actually, my DVD player does play VCDs. I have some and they work. But I think it's my method of recording the VCDs is faulty. Like it should be .dat file or something.

I'm downloading VCDEasy right now, so hopefully that'll work.

  4. Make sure that your DVD is also CDR compatable because it may play factory VCD's but not CDR's.
If you get Virtualdub,TMPGE and VCDEASDY.....you have the best combination of free video editting/converting/authoring sftware that you need.
