  1. how do I convert 30fps AVI to Pal 25fps using TMPgenc.
I`ve tryed searching this forum but i haven`t managed to come up with anything. I know how to convert films that are 23.9 to 25 using Vitua Dub and BeSweet for the audio and using a Pal template in TMpenc, but I`m completetly stumped with 30fps. Tryed besweet for downconverting the audio from 29.7 to to 25 but the audio plays goes very slow. Any ideas also for converting 20fps to Pal 25.

  2. Try TMPGEnc - still load VCD Pal.mcf template

  3. How do you mean

  4. I mean that you need to use VCD(Pal).mcf template - TMPGEnc will encode the movie to 25Fps Mpeg. 8)

  5. P.S.From what you said i understood that you think TMPGEnc will only convert video to 25fps by choosing VCDpal template and that audio has to be converted separately. NO - TMPGEnc can convert audio too - just load the template for the output file you need.

  7. Use Virtualdub to extract the audio and save as a WAV.
Then use the resulting WAV as the Audio Source in TMPGE.

  8. Save separately audio part and video part of your divx or avi file for ex. in Virtual Dub. In video part change framerate from 30 to 25 fps. After look at file info to see length of movie (for ex. 131595 frames /25 = 5263,8 seconds). Close Virtual dub. Open audio part file in Cooledit. go to transform/time pitch/stretch and change length of file to the time of your video part (for ex. 5263,8s ) .After converting click on save option under file menu. Then Open video part with changed framerate in Virtual dub . Go to audio/choose wav audio and choose your changed audio part. Audio direct stream copy and Video direct stream has to be marked. Save your movie as new avi file . Thats it. Now you can convert to mpg via Virtual Dub frameserver and Tmpeg Encoder with PAL VCD profile. Works fine.

  11. How did yer find that out wee hagis. PS I`ve installed cool edit. But wow, it looks complicated. What do I do after loading in the wave file. I have CoolEdit Pro 2.0. For example after changing the frame rate in vitua dub from 30 fms to 25 and the new time length is say 60 minutes. I load the Extracted wave file to cool edit. What do I do to convert it to 60 minutes.

  13. As Bonosk already said - after extracting audio (WAV) and converting video 30 to 25fps in TMPGEnc you now need to open WAV in your CoolEdit go to "Transform" pulldown menu and choose Time Pitch/Stretch and type in the length of your video file in seconds (you only need a calculator to get the time in seconds, 1h 31 min 56.83sec = 91 min 56.83sec = 91*60 + 56.83 = 5460 + 56.83 = 5516.83 sec) and let CoolEdit do the job. Afterwards just load your WAV and AVI separately into TMPGEnc and encode to whatever you want.

  15. You can use also Besweet 1.4 + Besweet GUI . Open Besweet GUI, load the input wav, choose output wav and there is point "NTSC to PAL conversion, check it and choose an output format (the best is what you have your input wav, for ex. mp3wav ). After multiplex video with audio in Virtual dub and through frameserver encode to vcd.

  16. You should not use cool edit transform as this will higly degrade the quality of the audio, and it is modifing the orignal audio so that the acoustic details and echos etc will sound wierd. Use Prosoniq Time Factory for a superior transformation that will preserve formanance and is easier to use that cool edit, because its a dedicated product.

  17. Rayoken, I`ll give it a go. And to think I`ve even sussed CoolEdit and did one sucessfully for Bourne Idenity. But it was cam so I could really tell if the sound was dodgy either before or after.
I`ve got BeSweet but it will only sucessfully let you encode from 23.9 to 25. 29 down to 25 just does not work and it doesn`t have any options for letting you frame change, say a 20FPS to 25.

  18. How do you work the Time Factory Program
I loaded it up . Changed the speed to the new time I wanted.
Now what do I do. one setting it take 7 hours another takes 1 hour
