So you just made your masterpiece and want to share it with the world, you could put it in your Kazaa folder and give it a description that makes other people want to download it. Or you could make it immediately available by providing a link to it !

However providing a link to a file on your computer is not all that easy, until now. Programs like Kazaa create a unique ID of the file you are sharing, it is this unique ID that enables you to download the same file from more than one source.

    Sig2dat
A relatively new program, Sig2dat will create a unique ID of any file you are sharing, once you give that ID to someone, the file will be added to your download list in Kazaa automatically

Naturally you should own the copyright of any files you are sharing, however using sig2dat it does not provide a url link to any files on your computer, it merely tells programs like Kazaa the unique ID, Kazaa will then search for this file and if a match is found it will start to download.

Once you have given the ID to someone, and that person has downloaded your file, the next person to add the unique ID will download from two people... and so on...

Using unique ID's there is no need for you to search, which may result in you accidentally downloading a file you did not want, as the case may be if someone makes a fake file. Already there are "Verified" lists poping up all over the Internet, these lits have been made with sig2dat from files these people have downloaded and verified they are what they say they are.

Sig2dat V 3.10a is freeware, can be found on the internet "Or downloaded on Kazaa"

  6. Kazaa is a joke plain and simple. FTP, IRC, Newsgroups are the only ways IMO.

Well looking at the stack of high quality disks I have piled up here, I suggest you have not used Kazaa correctly, or might have a poor connection.

Most FTP files are deleted within a short time, and replaced with zero bite files, and as for IRC, what a joke, I want the movie in a hour or so not when its available in the shops.

I find this funny seeing Kazaa etc usually get a movie 10-14 days after it is available on IRC and Newsgroups. By that time it is relatively easy to find an empty slot on an XDCC bot that will give you speeds of 100-150k plus easily. As for FTP's most are jokes but if you get into the good ones then they are just as good as IRC and Newsgroups

How Do I find these XDCC BOTS??? I would love to download stuff at 100-150 KBPS but so far, all of my downloads of MIRC have been at like a stinky 15 KBPS. Is there a certain channel I can go to to hop on one of these XDCC Bots?
    -Thanks-

  10. Also, Which channel do I go to find High Quality Divx or DVD-Rip files? Seems like a lot of the stuff on MIRC is crummy CAM & Screeener junk.

Yes, I think we would all like to know.

Don't know why some people are having problems with Kazaa (Lite) , I had Star war's on the same day it was previewed, and a good copy too. Lilo & Stitch, Scooby-Doo (For the kids) and Minority Report all last week.

  12. Let me first say that I was around before file sharing was hip (shouts out to those who remember when CuteMX was the shit), so I've got more than enough mp3's, and I hate that all the file sharing servers are packed full with youngsters building up their N'Sync collection; I'm only interested in movies. I just wish there was a client geared toward us film junkies, as there are plenty of clients which are strictly mp3-oriented.

I'm on a cable connection, and Kazaa Lite yields up to 80Kbytes/sec if it's widely available... I'm lucky to get 20 off of a gnutella, opennap, or IRC server. Usenet is okay for films that are in the theaters, but if that's the kinda movie I want, I'll just use KL instead. I want a place where I can find classics like "The Story of Ricky" or even "Stand by Me" for crying out loud. I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

I downloaded "Man of action" by the Lez Read orchestra on Kazaa, it was the radio theme from Radio North Sea International, a Pirate radio station way back in the 60's. Try getting that from the others

    #divx.edu

You have to join #invite.edu first and type !invite-me. This is to keep the spammers out. Trust me, it's the best channel out there.

Searched for 'did rips'. No channels found.

  16. Thats strange because I did a search a second ago and up popped 284 channels each with the sole purpose of dvd-rip. Keep in mind that this only covers 25 networks so there are many more plus this are only inclusive of channels that solely serve dvd rips not other things.

  17. @KingJohn and mrebman -- irc.criten.net - register your nick - type in "/list", you'll get a list of channels. The ones with the most users listed first. These will be the xdcc bot channels. #warez-central, #xdcc, #x-dcc. #warezwarez are a few that come to mind..

  19. have done it all, ftp, newsgroup, and many 2p2 such as edonkey, winmx, etc. Kazaa is the best for me. have been doing moviez for years. u need to know the tricks with kazaa, such as finding a fast user, and identifying complete and true files, but it is still my fav by far. If anyone knows something better, please post it. I would like to give it a try. such as an ip address for a decent ftp server, or a decent ftp search engine.

    its become too big
Oh, so your saying a lot of people are using it then ?, Don't you think the bigger it becomes, the better it is for downloading movies ?

Oh, and the bigger it becomes, the more people there are with the same movie, so the faster the downloads.

Judging by your comments you don't seam to be able to use it, when there are millions of people who do.

Slow ?, I don't think so. In fact its very fast for the latest movies, with 6 or more of them downloaded in a few hours (At the same time)

Nobody with a fast connection would download 1 at a time, and as for fakes yes there are fakes... You just need to learn how to deal with them.

Do you use 56K ? Yep its no use with that slow speed....

Give me a break. No one should have to deal with little idiots making fake files and putting them up on any p2p program. As far as your statement with the "latest movies", highly doubt that. Kazza is more than a few steps down the ladder getting the new rips. Biggest problem i have with kazza and the other p2p programs, you never know what your going to get. The movie will say MIB2, now there are atleast 3 rips of that out at the present time, and your not going to have a clue which one your getting.

  24. Well I've only had kazaa for a few days, and have yet to be impressed. Movies are going to be between 300-800MB in size depending on quality, so you really need to be able to connect with someone with xDSL. If they have ADSL, they can upload to me at best 30kbs (I am also on ADSL). So far, I have managed 20-25 on average, and that was for an hour. Once cut off, I struggled to get anything above 2kbs (who are these people who download movies on 56kbs modems?). The biggest problem is FINDING a connection. Mostly I have "More sources needed" or "Remote Queue" appear.

  25. sorry i have a cable internet not dial up. yes i do know how too use Kazaa, and your wrong the more people on it mean the more people downloading from a source which equals smaller bandwidth (thats why most downloads are around 3-5 kbps, on Imesh and WinMX they average around 25-30kbps because only one or two people are trying too download from a source. lastly, Kazaa is not anywhere near having new movies first ! on several occasions i have used either Imesh or Newsgroups too first download the movie and then be one of the first to post it on Kazaa!!

There seams to be some seriously wrong with some peoples Kazaa connections. First of all, I hope you are all using Kazaa lite 1.7+, with "Speed Up" as the original Kazaa is not as good.

As for download speed, I never get anything less than 19K, but mostly the popular movies are always 50K +. I always download a few at a time, and they are all very good speeds. Speed up +, seeks new sources continually.

It is also important to tweak your Windows settings, as the default settings are for dial-up which can slow you down. this site is always good http://www.cablemodemhelp.com/

There are other programs that disables bandwidth limits, disables the number of search limits.

Next is the problem with Fakes, you can easily preview the first few MB of a file in TMPGEnc to make sure its the correct movie, but the easiest method is to use the Unique ID of a movie that has already been verified to be genuine. 8)

As for the latest movies, Last night I downloaded those Chemical spiders, its a screener and excellent quality, It does NOT show up in a search.. I say again you obviously have not learned how to use the program to its full advantage

As for 56K users, you can prevent downloading from them by limiting your downloads to higher bandwidths, I don't mine people with 56K uploading from me, but don't want a connection to them.

Learn how to use the program

  28. like i said, using newsgroups you can get the movie before its posted on ANY p2p site. by the way i had done everything you suggested plus some other "tricks" but in the end i found smaller p2p apps. to be faster and more reliable. dont get me wrong, Kazaa was great before they had over 1.5 million people on at one time. i have found in my exp. that if i miss a post on newsgroups its better to go with Winmx or Imesh.

  29. Newsgroups are the best - for movies, games(PC,PSX,PS2,XBOX, and every old console too), apps, mp3, music videos, TV shows, porn, lossless audio CDs, and everything else you could ever imagine.

Get a good pay news server (I use newsfeeds.com) and your downloads will be consistently FAST and reliable because it's not peer to peer. People upload the files to servers, you download them from servers. Not like Kazaa where you find a movie only one person has, download 80% of it, then he goes offline and never comes back on because he realizes Kazaa sucks and you're stuck with a movie without an ending. It's also not fun waiting in an IRC fserve queue for 12 hours or more, only to have the guy running the server decide to turn it off - or clear his queue - or move others ahead of you in the queue. Ugh.

With three news servers going at one time, I can consistently get 150KB/s about 18-20 hours a day (dips a little bit in the afternoon, but not much).
