  2. You can try DivFix:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divfix.html

    or
You may have bad frames and to cut them might be your only option (if its just a few frames ..you might hardly notice it).
Use thei version of Virtualdub to do a Video Freeze Scan:
(scroll down to the version "Mp3_Freeze" and download).

i've tried that from looking at the forums but i have 192 bad frames

  4. 192 bad frames is not a lot.
Assuming its a NTSC FILM movie (23.97f/s)...that would mean that your talking about 8 seconds(7.6 secs for PAL and 6.4secs for an NTSC).
So,you have a choice of deciding whether it is at a crtical part of the movie or not (ie:If its a scene with no dialog then maybe it would be aceptable)......or if you want the movie to stay 100% intact...either download it again or rip it again from a DVD.

If TMPGEnc freezes or crashes when converting or you receive errors such as
    Unexpected decimal point calculation
Illegal floating decimal point calculation order
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
Or try to convert the audio to wav before converting.
Or try to repair the AVI,DivX or the ASF.
Or try to use avidefreezer to fix your video source.

ok i see what you mean but i already got does settings the movie starts to convert but it freezes after 30mins into the movie. and the sound continues i separated the audio to a wav file using virtual dub i checked it for frame freeze on mp3freeze virtualdub version. but still i have all the nimo codecs needed. i never had a problem before i got 20 vcd under my belt all of a sudden am having problems. i got plenty of hardrive space if you check my system profile

  8. If you have 192 bad frames it will not convert unless you remove them.
So,as i said previously you either remove them or you download another version that hopefully has no bad frames.

You could re-stream the AVi through Virtualdub...
Video > Direct Stream Copy > Audio > Direct Stream Copy > File > save As Avi.

this is link to Avidefreezer...but I think it does the same as Virtualdub Mp3_Freeze.

thanks for the offer of movie titles, but I have over 200 and have about 120 in the pipeline.
