does Pioneer DV 333 play DVD+R?

Hi,
I got my HP DVD200xi, I did my first production on DVD+RW using Sonic MyDVD. I was able to play it on my Pioneer DV 333. I tried burning the same movie on a DVD+R, using the same project from Sonic MyDVD and my player didn't want to read the disk at all. It just ejected it right away.
Same thing happened with a blank DVD+R.
I tried the same written DVD+R on a Pioneer 353 and the player said "I cannot play this disk".
I did not apply the patch for DVD+R media, patched supplied by Sonic.
Did any one have the same problem? I need an input from you guys before trying another blank disk.

I copied the VIDEO_TS folder from my DVD+RW to my DVD+R using Nero 5.5.9 I could obtain a reliable DVD+R with the same video production.
