  1. Got mpegs of tv shows that I wanna burn to vcd, since each episode goes for around 43min each and it feels like a waste of space of burning only 1 ep per cd, was wondering if I burnt 2 eps on a 90min cd would a dvd player recognise it as a vcd still?

If they will fit as standard ...it sould recognise as standard VCD.
The format will not have changed...

    I get 90-93 minutes on one 90 minute CD R in VCD format, or 2 90 minute CD r's for a SVCD's.

Anything under 90 minute should fit, providing your drive can do
    overburn in Nero.

  4. Not all standalones will play a 90minute vcd. I've got one that won't even play an overburned 80 minute disc with 83 minutes of video on it.

Just FYI, in case compatability matters to you.

  5. 90 min CDs are technically not in the Orange Book specs so a CD/DVD drive need not be able to read it properly.

However, the experience of most people has been that anything burnt within 90min will work on most drives (assuming that it can read CD-R at all of course).

It is when you go into the 90-99 min range, that you may start getting some compatibility problems...

Technically 80 minute disks are non-standard too, but they work almost universally ( where a similar 74 minute disk would work ).

Some things to note. If you are having trouble you can try recording at a lower speed. Most >80 minute disks are only 16x and they should probably be written to at 8-12x for best stability.

    Good luck.

  8. 80min discs weren't in the original Orange Book Part II but I believe that were added as an amendment some time ago now.
