  1. Hi

I always use Tmpgenc when converting from avi to mpg (vcd), and the file gets about 1-1.2 Gb big. With one movie though, it got 3.5 GB, 3 of 5 hours (!) of the movie was black, and there was no audio at all. What's the problem?

we were just discussing this in another thread. turns out TMPGEnc sometimes comes up with a much bigger number for the total number of frames to encode, and continues to encode those extra frames as empty/black ones until it reaches that final number. best thing to do is to check the upper right hand corner of the TMPGEnc window for the total frames and reload the source video if it is much bigger than it should be (i'd be suspect if it was greater than 200,000). if reloading does not bring the total frames number down, you could use the source range filter and use the correct end frame number.

  3. Ok, with the Source range filter I set the end frame (which earlier was over 500000 ), but there's still no sound in the mpg-file.
