    WHY WHY WHY ok from dvd2avi i used DIVX4 FAST MOTION and then encode it then when it plays on my dvd player it lags on most parts n drives me crazy what is the problem? could it be im converting it in divx4 fast motion?????????

    need more info...

    what format (VCD, SVCD, etc...)

    what dvd player (some dvd players don't handle certain formats very well...and some crappy ones don't handle non-compliant stuff at all)

    what speed you burn your movie at? slower will cause less problems (try only at 4x)

    I think its got something to do with the vcd/svcd header. Try to mux it with tmpgenc. But your right it could be the codec
