  1. Hey All,

Yes I am new to the TV Tuner world. I just got a TV2000XP and am impressed with the TV side of this card. As for the capture side....I am a little daunted by the hundreds of posts concerning capturing and authoring.

To get my feet wet, all I want to do is capture 1 hour of TV input, in the best format (sight and sound) that will fit on 1 CDR(maximized). I will be using the venerable Apex AD-1100W to view my creation, so I have many options to capture..(I believe)

Can someone who has this card get me started on the right track as far as the codecs and software programs used???(ie.I know VirtualDub doesnt work with this card)

    thx :P :P

  2. Checked a website that posted the specs on your card and it says it comes with WDM drivers for Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP so I don't see why Virtual Dub can't recognize your card.

If you want to try some more general WDM drivers go here

    http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

WARNING: These general WDM drivers will make your current drivers stop functioning. So any programs that were shipped with your card probably won't run after installing these drivers. It takes some playing around to get these drivers to work and a lot of people have commented on how better they are than the "insert name" drivers that ship with their cards.

    To prevent F*ups
Backup the partition/drive that contains your OS or create a dual boot setup if you want to play around with these drivers without messing up your current setup.

VDub uses vfw drivers, you will need a vfwwrapper to use it with a wdm driver.
May the force be with you.

Currently testing this app with those btwincap drivers from sourceforge and looks promising. Got a 3 hour huffyuv cap at 640x480 from bad vcr source [cr@ppy tape] and so far no dropped frames, even with 10 blips counted so far where screen has shots of the physical tape being wrinkled in that spot.
