Hi,
I saw Apex AD1200 is selling at $69 at circuitcity.
I also saw that I can no-longer use 8-4-2-1 code
to switch off the macrovision on this player.
Is this true ?
Is there another DVD player that can be un-macrovision
without adding mod chip and hacking the PWB,
that currently avaialble in store ?

Yes, I know these site/page.
I am looking for a easy way or a easy place
to order a macrovision-free DVD player. -
My Apex modification involved downloading a program, running the program to generate a file, burning the file to disc and loading the disc in the player. The easiest(and safest) thing to do is to go to Ebay where you can find many players already hacked but at a slight premium in price. This is a small price to pay considering the fact that the wrong hack could render your player irrepairably useless.

Which DVD player is that ?
I know a few like Apex500 like this,
but they are no longer available in store. -
Mine was an Apex AD-703 from about a year or more ago. You had to read the video processor chip with a magnifying glass to know which of the 2 files to download. One guy decided to be lazy and take a 50-50 guess. Well, he won't be using that player any more. That's why I was saying it might be worth it to play a slight premium buying on Ebay (maybe an extra $25) to get a player that has already been hacked.

the daewoo 5800 is very easy to hack $89 sams or the Sampo 631CF $149 or my dads APEX 1500 was a piece of cake $79 walmart or circuit city. all required a simple program to be burned on a CD-Rom and insert the cd-rom into the players, the bio's are automatically updated.
